Paola Di Legge is an Italian artist based in Dublin. Her work explores the connection between nature and human experience, focusing on how we feel and remember the natural environments around us.
Her practice explores the relationship between nature, material and perception—focusing on how natural environments are felt and remembered over time, rather than just observed. After working for over a decade as a project manager in the corporate world, Paola turned to nature as a way to find balance and well-being. What began as a personal refuge gradually evolved into a full-time artistic practice. A self-taught artist, she has developed a unique way of working with preserved botanical materials to create sculptural wall pieces.
Her work is deeply influenced by the two places she calls home: the dry, earthy textures of her childhood in Italy and the fluid, green landscapes of her adult life in Ireland. By layering materials like moss, bark and amaranth, she creates textures that invite people to slow down and reconnect with the natural world.
Paola’s practice has been recognized both in Ireland and internationally. In 2024, she was named the Emerging Maker Winner of the Future Makers awards by the Design & Crafts Council Ireland, followed by shortlists for the Irish Made Awards and the RDS Craft Awards in 2025.
Paola has been selected to represent Ireland at Collect at Somerset House, London, in both 2025 and 2026. Her work has been featured in international design journals, contemporary art magazines and publications on sustainable living.
While she continues to lead Ninfa Studio for commercial projects, her personal work is dedicated to unique gallery pieces and sculptural commissions that explore the possibilities of preserved botanical materials.
